The Nintendo Game Boy 1up Handhold Game Console Inspired by Classic Game Boy

The original Game Boy in the 80s has been outmoded, but many games from the classic handheld game console are still parts of pop culture even today so Nintendo Game Boy 1up has born with classic elements and enhanced design fitting modern tastes.

Florian Renner, a German graphic designer came up with the amazing design concept based on classic Game Boy. The concept handheld console is named Game Boy 1up. As its name implies, the concept replicates those classic design elements from the original Game Boy including D-pad, red buttons, two narrow gray function buttons, and speaker in bottom right corner. Of course, it also shows off a solid white body.

However, as a modern handheld game console, Game Boy 1up has a large LCD screen for better viewing experience, and newly added shoulder buttons allows it to run more complex video games, but it’s strange that the concept game console still uses old-school game cartridges. Apparently, a built-in flash memory and digital game store can match better with the modern handheld game console. After the break, check out these images about the design concept. We have no idea whether Nintendo has any plan to release a similar product. BTW, also don’t miss the Raspberry Pi handheld game console and more coll stuff by following tags.
