Wink Bar app-enabled handlebar is designed to fit on various bikes and provide a simple way to turn a regular bike into a smart bike. Like the idea? Let’s continue checking.
The Wink Bar is an advanced and versatile smart handlebar that comes in two models. The urban model fits for electric and city bikes, and the flat model is designed for mountain, fixie and electric bikes. As we can see from the images, both handlebars sport a sleek and minimal appearance design plus two optional black and silver finishes in order to match well with various bikes.
The connected handlebar uses Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity to wirelessly communicate with your smartphone. Using its custom companion app, you can easily set your destination and route on your smartphone, then the right and left LED modules on the handlebar will flash to notify you when you need to turn for a simple and practical navigation, and the LED light will also remind you of incoming calls, notifications and SMS.
Furthermore, the smart handlebar also features integrated GPS system that supports GSM 4 bands, so you can easily use your smartphone to follow and find your bike. Built-in alarm prevents your bike from thieves. When your bike was stolen, the tracking system would automatically turn on so you can receive real-time notifications about its location. You can easily unlock your bike with your smartphone or individual VelcoTag.
Moreover, Wink Bar also features a smart lighting system with 225 lumens that switch on and off automatically depending on the amount of daylight. In addition, a built-in 1800 rechargeable battery offers 3 weeks of use on a single charge.
The Wink Bar has been available for preorder on Indiegogo (flexible crowdfunding goal). You can pledge $149 to preorder the smart handlebar. It would be shipped in September 2017 (estimated). BTW, don’t miss the connected bike bell and more cool related gadgets by following tags.
