Following its original Mokacam 4K camera, Mokacam has unveiled Alpha and Alpha S, its latest 4K action cameras. With improved design and performance, the two mini cameras should bring you better photography experience.
Appearance design
Compared with its processor, Mokacam Alpha sports a slimmer and lighter appearance. It measures 45 x 45 x 24mm and weighs 63g, so you can easily take it anywhere with you. Using built-in magnet, the mini camera can be easily mounted on any metal surface, and it comes with many optional mounts and accessories that allow you to freely use your Alpha to record awesome videos. Moreover, the Alpha features a 1/4″ nut and a base adapter that enable the camera to work with GoPro selfie sticks and other accessories, and its custom waterproof case lets you record videos under water up to 135 feet/ 40 meters.
Performance
The Alpha action camera comes equipped with Sony IMX206 16MP image sensor while Alpha S has a 1.55mm Pixel Sony IMX117 image sensor, so the Alpha supports up to 4K video recording at 25fps, and the S version also features an Ambrella image processor that allows it to record 4K videos at 30 fps or 1080p video at 120fps.
Furthermore, Alpha S’s 7-layer glass lens delivers details, clarity and rich colors, and built-in G-sensor helps Alpha get better image stabilization during video recording.
Moreover, using an optional screen module, you can add an extra screen and buttons for more comfortable and convenient operation, and its unique shutter wheel allows you to freely set the shutter speed from 1/2000″ up to 32″ in manual mode, so you can use it to shoot long exposure night pics or even the stars.
With built-in WiFi connectivity, the action camera can also live stream real-time video to your smartphone or tablet and live service provider, and you can easily share your photos and videos with your friends. Built-in Bluetooth technology can turn your phone into a remote controller and get GPS info for Geo-tagging or displaying the trajectory.
Apart from these, the 4K camera also features a 1100mAh magnetic snap-on battery pack. Using the battery, Alpha’s 800mAh rechargeable battery and the 1100mAh battery in the screen module, you can get 4-hour continuos 1080p 30fps video recording.
Price and shipment date
The two 4K action cameras have been available for preorder on Indiegogo. You can pledge $149 to preorder Alpha or Alpha S bundle. Both models will be shipped in May 2017.
