Using built-in sensors, AXIS’s Gear turns your existing window shades into smart window shades, and integrated motor and Bluetooth allow you to control your windows shades via your smartphone.
The Gear is an innovative and practical smart device designed to motorize your existing window shades. The smart adapter measures 1.5 x 1.8 x 6.5 inches, and as shown in the images, the Gear shows off a compact and sleek design, and the white body with aluminum bezel ensures it decently work with your window shade on the wall.
The smart device features a one-size-fits-all design, so it’s compatible with all beaded chains, cord loops and bead chain connectors, and its patent pending technology allows you to apply the Gear to your window shade without any modification.
Using built-in Bluetooth technology, every smart window shade with the Gear can be controlled by your smartphone, and you can also remotely control multiple window shades at a time. Furthermore, the Gear features light sensors, temperature/ humidify sensors and presence sensor. Once you set rules for your window shades, they will automatically roll up or close based on time, alarm clock, motion, temperature and etc, and it supports IFTTT which brings you more autonomous control recipes.
Moreover, there are multiple control buttons and a touch control panel on Gear’s body in order that you can also completely one or multiple connected window shades from a single device. In addition, the smart adapter is powered by a combination of a replaceable set of alkaline batteries, a rechargeable battery and a solar panel module. The alkaline batteries lasts one year of normal usage.
The Gear has been available for preorder via Indiegogo. You can pledge $95 to preorder the smart device for window shades. It will be shipped in October next year.
