Xiaomi, a hot Chinese smartphone maker announced their first Android tablet – Xiaomi Tablet. If you’re curious, let’s go on checking what new features the tablet shows off to challenge Apple and Samsung that are predominating the tablet field.
Xiaomi Tablet is a 7.9-inch Android tablet that runs on MIUI, a deeply customized Google Android OS. The tablet measures 135.4 x 202.1 x 8.5mm, weights 360g, and as shown in the images, Xiaomi tablet sports an iPhone 5c-styled colored design, its bright color can be shown no matter how you hold the tablet. The Android tablet is powered by NVIDIA Tegra K1 ARM Cortex-A15 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB LPDDR3 RAM, 16GB/64GB internal storage with microSD card slot for up to 128GB, 7.9-inch 326 ppi IPS display with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 8-megapixel rear camera with Sony BSI sensor and f/2.0 lens. Moreover, other specs include dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and USB OTG. Apart from that, built-in 6700mAh rechargeable battery offers 11 hours of video playback.
Xiaomi Tablet comes in 16GB and 64GB. The two models are priced at ¥1499 and ¥1699 (approx $240 and $272 USD). The Android tablet will be available in June in China, but no word on its overseas sale.
