It seems the solar power hasn’t been really exploited in the field of cell phone. At least, the Vodafone 247 is the first solar powered cell phone appeared at Gadgetsin.
Without too much fancy functions, the Vodafone 247 just reserves some basic features such as color screen, voice and SMS support, and FM radio, in order to give full play to the solar panel located on the back of Vodafone 247, which can offer you about 20 minutes of talk time once facing the sunlight over an hour. It should be enough until you charge the solar powered cell phone through the AC power.
It’s a bit pity that the price and release date still aren’t unveiled. But Vodafone 247 is defined in the ultra low cost handset range. The price should not be too expensive.
