SmartThings is an innovative home management center invented by Alex Hawkinson. The smart device consists of a SmartThings hub and several sensors. At launch, SmartThings will have 4 available sensors, including power outlet that allow any electric device to be plugged in and turned on and off, open/ shut sensor that monitors doors, windows or cabinets, motion sensor that can detect movement within a room, and a presence sensor that can notify you when people and pets come and go, and SmartThing are compatible with many existing standards for home automation, smart energy and more, while using SDK and Could Platform API, developer can bring more functions for the home management center. All you need to do is just to connect the smart device on the Internet, while the matching SmartApps allow you to monitor and control your devices at home via iOS or Android platform.
