Jim Golden, a Portland based photographer created the awesome photography project named “Relics of Technology”. Did they have Laserdiscs? You want to talk about a cool old technology . Or the often not remembered competing tech to VHS called Betamax?
Are you sure it isn’t a 1.44 mb floppy disk? I’ve never heard of a 1.44″ floppy. I believe they are 3.5″, 1.44″ would be tiny.

No problem! I remember those being an upgrade from the old 5″ floppies and cassette drives. Great article! Old school tech has a certain romantic and colorful atmosphere!
Geez I remember when a 56kb dialup modem was an upgrade over the old 14.4kb baud modems. I feel so old hahaha.
