The QTemp is an innovative and functional wearable weather station that measures 2.0 x 1.0 x 0.2 inches and weights under 25g. Both QTemp and QTemp-i use the same sensors to measures UV index and temperature. The QTemp is made of durable PVC for durability and battery-free design means it doesn’t require any charging. The compact weather station harvests energy from your smartphone via built-in NFC, and when tapping your NFC-enabled smartphone with the QTemp, its custom app will show you real-time UV index and temperature, and based on your location, skin type and local UV radiation the smart weather station delivers you a safe sun time.
The QTemp-i has an anodized aluminum housing for a durable and premium construction. Unlike NFC equipped QTemp, the QTemp-i features built-in Bluetooth technology in order to wirelessly connect with your smartphone and continuously measures and transfer date to the connected phone. Once the safe sun time is over, you will receive alert on your smartphone. QTemp-i is powered by a replaceable CR2032 coin cell.
The wearable smart weather station has been available for preorder on Kickstarter. You can pledge $33 to preorder a QTemp ($39 for a QTemp-i). Both models will be shipped in June 2016 if the crowdfunding campaign can reach $26,184 goal.
