Oppo has announced two new smartphones: R9 and R9 Plus. With their charming looks and decent configurations, the two handsets may draw your attention. Curious? Let’s keep going.
The R9 and R9 Plus are two high-performance Android phones that runs ColorOS 3.0 based on Google Android 5.1 OS. The R9 measures 74.3 x 151.8 x 6.6mm and weights approx 145g, while the R9 Plus measures 80.78 x 163.1 x 7.4mm and weights approx 185g. As we can see from the images, both smartphones show off ultra-thin profiles with smooth edges and ultra-narrow bezels, and fully metallic unibody design and two optional finishes deliver ultra strong construction and stylish look.
The R9 is powered by MT6755 2.0GHz octa-core processor with MailT-860 MP2 and comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM with microSD card slot supporting 128GB for fast response and smooth entertainment experience. The R9 Plus comes equipped with MSM8976 1.8GHz octa-core processor with Adreno 510, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB ROM with microSD card slot, and compared with R9’s 5.5″ 1920 x 1080 pixel 401ppi display, the R9 Plus boasts a 6.0″ display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 367 ppi pixel density for more comfortable viewing experience.
Furthermore, both R9 and R9 Plus also feature 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 78.1-degree field of view, but R9 Plus has a higher performance 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and 4K video recording than R9’s 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and 1080p video recording. Moreover, both rear cameras support macro phonegraphy. In addition, R9 has a 2850mAh rechargeable battery, and the R9 Plus is powered by a 4120mAh battery.
Both R9 and R9 Plus smartphones have been available for preorder on Oppo official site for ¥2799/¥3299 (approx US$432/$509), but no word about its international sales.
