Unlike Qi-enabled wireless chargers, MotherBox wireless charger charges smartphones without needing a charging pad so you can freely use your phone as usual during charging. Sounds cool? Let’s keep checking.
The MotherBox is an innovative and practical wireless charger that comes in two models. The original unit measures 6 x 6 x 6 inches and its mini version is 3.5 x 3.5 x 3.5 inches. As we can see from the images, both versions sport a sleek polyhedral spherical form factor, and its mini version features a more compact design that allows you to easily attach it onto your backpack for easy carrying.
The wireless charger works with iPhone and Android phones using custom Lightning and microUSB receivers. All you need to do is jut use its custom app to wirelessly connect with your smartphone in order to charge it without needing any cable or contact with a wireless charging pad.
The MotherBox needs to be plugged in a power outlet, and the MotherBox Mini comes equipped with a 7000mAh rechargeable battery for mobile wireless charging. The MotherBox is capable of simultaneously charging 3 to 4 devices, and its mini version supports charging 1 to 2 devices at the same time.
The MotherBox has been available for preorder on Indiegogo. You can pledge $79 to preorder the wireless charger ($89 for MotherBox Mini portable wireless charger). Both models will be shipped in September 2017 (estimated).
