Leica has announced Leica X-U, a premium dustproof, shockproof and waterproof camera. Now you can take your favorite Leica camera underwater for awesome underwater photography.

Save as other members from Leica, the X-U is a luxurious and expensive digital camera. The camera measures 5.5 x 3.1 x 3.5 inches and weights 1.4 lbs. As shown in the images, the Leica X-U shows off a sleek and minimal design, and its extremely rugged construction makes it withstand falls from 4’/ 1.2m high. Meanwhile, it meets IP68 waterproof standards, which means you can use it to capture photos or videos in water up to 49’/ 1.5m for up to 60 minutes of shooting, and fully sealed housing protects internal components from dust and sand.

The Leica X-U comes equipped with a large 16.2MP APS-C CMOS image sensor and a Leica Summilux 23mm f/1.7 ASPH. lens with an angle of view equivalent to a 35mm lens in 35mm format in order to deliver you a sensitivity range from ISO 100-12500, full HD 1080p video recording at 30fps, and high-quality imagery even in low light conditions.

Moreover, the Leica camera also features a manual focus ring to provide more free control when using selective focus techniques, and its built-in flash has been revolutionarily integrated in the front of its lens to provide additional illumination in difficult lighting conditions.
