The open Google eBooks platform has released for a long time. Now the first ebook reader with the support of Google eBooks: iriver Story HD will be finally released on Sunday, July 17.
iriver Story HD ebook reader measures 7.5 x 5.01 x 0.37 inches and weights 7.3 ounces. As we can see from the images, the entire ebook reader features streamlined design, and comes with 6-inch XGA E-ink display with 768 x 1024 pixels resolution and 16-level grayscale and a QWERTY keyboard with way controller and function keys for easy searching and reading. The integrated SD card slot supports up to 32GB SDHC memory card in order to meet the shortage of internal storage capacity.
Inside, iriver Story HD is powered by an advanced 800MHz Cortex processor, and comes with 2GB internal storage (600MB for readers), while the rechargeable battery with 1800mAh capacity allows you to read up to 14,000 pages or provides you 6 weeks of standby time. On the software side, iriver Story HD has integrated the open Google eBooks platform. Through Wi-Fi, you can connect to Google eBooks in order to get lots of free eBooks or purchase your favorite eBooks. Apart from that, the ebook reader supports most popular eBook, image formats like PDF, ePub, TXT, PPT, XLS, DOC, ZIP, JPG, BMP, and etc.
