As we know, the normal ebook reader devices use e-ink technology for displaying texts. Now, a Chinese company called Sanso is changing the tradition. They used the Sharp FSTN LCD instead of the traditional e-ink in their latest ebook reader: Insdream SX-601. I believe the technology should be able to largely reduce the cost of ebook reader. When Insdream SX-601 comes into market, it should be the competitive product in terms of price.
Insdream SX-601 features Samsung ARM9 400MHz processor, 6-inch screen with 16 level grayscale and card reader slot. It sizes at 188x124x11.5mm, weights 295g, and supports TXT, PDF, HTML, CHM, BMP, JPG, PNG, MP3, WMA file formats, and also supports TTS speech under TXT format. We have no more messages about its release date or the actual experience. but we will continue to track.
