We saw the awesome off-grid mobile home in May this year. We have known Ecocapsule will be available for preorder at the end of 2015. If you haven’t seen the tiny home, let’s keep going.
As we can see from the images, the Ecocapsule shows off a smooth, minimal and egg-shaped appearance. The whole house measures 2.55 x 4.45 x 2.25/4.5m and weights 1500kg, so using a standard shipping container, it can be shipped worldwide without needing special preparations and precautions, but the shipping cost is not inexpensive. You will set back approx €2,200 for its shipping from Slovakia to New York.
The egg-shaped mobile house comes equipped with all necessary equipment including folding bed, working and dining place, kitchenette, toilet and shower, and storage spaces. And using integrated solar cells, wind turbine and rainwater collection, the portable house is capable to provide you comfortable and modern living conditions, and abundant space accommodate two adults in comfort. In addition, built-in high-capacity helps you store enough energy for periods of reduced solar or wind activity.
Nice Architects, the Slovakian studio behind Ecocapsule has finished the prototype of the mobile home, and they will start taking preorders in Q4 this year. It will be finally shipped in the first half of next year, but the pricing hasn’t been unveiled until now. BTW, also don’t miss the suspended spherical treehouse and other cool stuff by following tags.
