Apparently you can drink the very thick book, but if you need clean and pure water, even in the wild, the “Drinkable Book” manual will be a perfect water purifier.
WATERisLIFE, a humanitarian group that focuses on providing clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene education programs in developing countries, teamed up with the researchers from Carnegie Mellon and the University of Virginia and released “Drinkable Book”, the world’s first clean drinking water manual that works as a water purifier. Each page contains drinking info printed in English and a local language. Most importantly, each page is divided into two square, using silver nanoparticles coated on cardstock, each page is able to attract bacteria and toxins in order that the water is %99.9 pure. Each page can filter about 30 days so a Drinkable Book can serve as a tool to kill deadly waterborne disease for approx 4 years. After the break, check out the following photos and demo video.
