Appearance design
The Ding is a well-designed and advanced smart doorbell that consists of three parts including a subtle doorbell button that sits near your door, a sleek doorbell chime that sits in your home and a free companion app compatible with iOS and Android.
The doorbell button measures 36 x 103 x 19mm, so it’s slender enough to fit on your doorframe, and multiple optional colors deliver personalized style. Moreover, weather resistant enclosure allows it to withstand rain, frost, and temperature changes.
The doorbell chime is a fabric covered speaker that measures 72 x 177 x 32mm. The portable design allows you to place it on your desk or mount it on the wall, and the fabric design with a choice of textiles delivers elegant aesthetics and personalized elements.
Smart features
The doorbell buttons uses DECT wireless technology to wirelessly connects with the chime within a connectivity range of up to 40m. Meanwhile, using built-in WiFi connectivity, the smart doorbell can join in your local network.
When a visitor presses the doorbell button, the chime rings in your home and your smartphone with Ding app will also receive notification, allowing you to talk with the visitor at your front door from wherever you’re in the world.
In addition to receiving calls from your front door, the Ding app also records all your visitors and allows you to silence the interior chime when you need some quiet time at home. Apart from these, the doorbell button can be battery powered is hard wired, and it offers 3600 minutes of call time between charges.
Price and shipment date
The crowdfunding campaign for Ding is ongoing on Kickstarter. You can pledge $129 to preorder the smart doorbell. It will be shipped in August 2017.
