Apple announced its upcoming iOS 8, the latest version of its mobile operating system at WWDC 2014. If you want to know the new features of iOS 8, let’s keep reading.
As shown in the images, iOS 8 follows the flat-styled design of iOS 7, but the latest iOS will bring us lots of useful and handy features. Its new interactive notifications center not only lets you check out incoming notifications, but also interact with them such as replaying a message, accepting or declining invitation, reading Emails, marking reminders, and it supports third-party apps.
Its improved Photos app has enhanced photo filters and support extra filters and editing tools from third-party photos apps, while smart adjustments and smart composition tools let you more easily adjust your photos. The new Photos app also sports smart suggestion feature and 5GB iCloud Photo Library.
Enhanced iMessage will support group conversation and let you easily send voice messages or video clips, and you can also conveniently share your location and decide how long you’d like to share it.
iOS 8 will come equipped with all-new Health app that brings you an easy-to-read dashboard of your health and fitness data, and using its HealthKit developing tool, the Health app allows various fitness apps to work together for more detailed and accurate fitness data.
Spotlight will provide you a new way to search content, which contains numerous authoritative sources for precise info, and you can also use it to search apps, books, entertainment content from iTunes Store, App Store and iBooks Store, while location-based search lets you easily find out nearby restaurant, mall, theater and etc.
iOS 8 also features improved virtual keyboard QuickType that allows you to tap to choose the prefect suggestion for your next word based on your past conversations and writing style. Most importantly, for the first time, iOS 8 will support third-party keyboard apps.
HomeKit in iOS 8 will be a new integration to help you form a smart home appliance system. The app works with popular smart devices such as smart bulb, smart locker, and etc in order that you can conveniently put these smart devices together and individually control them just using HomeKit with Siri support.
Family Sharing is another nice feature that allows you to share your purchases from iTunes, iBooks, and App Store with up it six people without sharing accounts. Moreover, iCloud Drive is a new bundled app. You can use it to organize your files in your iCloud account and works with your documents.
iOS 8 will allow you to answer make and receive phone calls on your iPad or Mac once your iPhone runs iOS 8 and use the same WiFi network, and you can also use your iPad or Mac send and receive SMD and MMS text messages.
