The team behind original GPD WIN has unveiled GPS WIN 2, a new handheld game console that runs Windows 10. Want to enjoy your favorite video games like Overwatch, Civilization VI and more? Let’s have a look.
The GPD WIN 2 is a powerful and flexible handheld mini PC that measures 162 x 99 x 25mm and weighs 460g. The new handheld game console is a bit bigger than its predecessor, but you can still slide it in your front pocket with ease, and the compact design and smooth contours let you comfortably hold it in your hands for gaming. Meanwhile, the light yet strong magnesium alloy lid prevents the screen bending, and the ABS base cover is replaceable with other zinc alloy cover.
The handheld game console is powered by Intel Core m3-7Y30 with integrated Intel HD Graphics 615 and comes equipped with 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and replaceable 128GB SSD, so it’s powerful enough to smoothly run various AAA games such as Grand Theft Auto 5, Overwatch, The Elder Scroll 5, Fallout 4, DiRT 4 and more. Furthermore, GPD WIN 2 has a 6-inch touch screen from Sharp which features 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, 16:9 ratio and Gorilla Glass 4.
Moreover, the handheld game console also features a newly designed gamepad that comes with two 3D joysticks, a D-pad, ABXY buttons, and 6 shoulder button, while built-in dual-vibration motors bring you a more immersive gaming experience. The integrated compact keyboard also allows you to use it to deal with more tasks like writing emails, editing documents and more.
In addition, two 4900mAh battery packs allow it to give you over 6 hours of gameplay on a single charge, and its PC-class cooling solution ensures reliable performance even during a long gaming session. Other features also include microSD card slot, dual speakers, Bluetooth 4.2, micro HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, a USB 3.0 port, and a USB-C port.
The team behind GPD WIN 2 has raised enough fund for the product on Indiegogo, but we can still pledge $649 to preorder the handheld game console. It will be shipped in May 2018.
