BioLite has released BaseLantern, its latest LED lantern. With its built-in LED lights, power bank and Bluetooth technology, the lantern is a perfect companion for your camping trips.
The BaseLantern is a versatile and practical LED lantern that measures 5.1 x 5.0 x 1.7 inches and weights 1.31 lbs, and its XL version weights 1.42 lbs. As we can see from the images, the camping lantern shows off a minimal and ultra portable design, so you can easily store it in your backpack for any outdoor activity like camping, picnics, boating, hunting and more.
The BaseLantern has the ability to throw 500 lumens of light using its double-faced LED lights and it allows you to switch between three brightness modes including high, medium and low. Furthermore, its stainless steel folding legs keep the LED lantern steadily on the ground or your table, and the legs can angle for task-lighting or hang from a branch.
The camping lantern comes equipped with a 7800mAh/12000mAh rechargeable battery that offers 54 hours/ 114 hours of illumination in low mode, and it doubles as a power bank with two USB ports to to charge two mobile devices at the same time, and two SiteLight ports allow it to work with two BioLite SiteLights. Furthermore, the BaseLantern also features built-in Bluetooth technology, so you can wirelessly connect BaseLantern with your smartphone in order to remotely control the camping lantern, view the status of your BaseLantern, or add lantern effects. Furthermore, its proximity activation automatically turns the lantern on or off based on your relative location, and smart alarm feature automatically turns your BaseLantern on along with your alarm.
The crowdfunding campaign for BaseLantern is in progress on Kickstarter. You can pledge $79 to preorder the Bluetooth LED lantern ($99 for BaseLantern XL). Both models will be shipped in October this year. Update: the BaseLantern has also been available on Amazon for $99.99 USD.
