Apple announced Apple Watch Series 2, the successor to original Apple Watch. With its newly added GPS and swim-proof design, the stylish smartwatch with heart rate monitor will be a nice companion for your daily life and workouts.
Apple Watch Series 2 follows the design of original Apple Watch and comes in two sizes including 38mm and 42mm, but it’s a bit thicker than its predecessor because of newly added components. In addition to aluminum and stainless steel, Apple Watch Series 2 features an optional ceramic watch case that delivers more luxurious feeling and solid construction. Meanwhile, compared with splash-proof Apple Watch Series 1, Series 2 is water resistant to 50 meters, so you use it to track your workout even when you swim, surf or dive in water.
Apple Watch Series 2 uses Bluetooth technology to wirelessly communicate with your iPhone, so it delivers all notifications, text, emails from the phone, and you can also answer calls without having to take out your phone from your pocket. All you need to do is just raise your arm and tap its 2x brighter OLED Retina display with Force Touch. Meanwhile, Apple Watch Series 2 is powered by a new S2 dual-core processor with new GPU, so it delivers higher performance for its internal and third-party apps.
Apple Watch Series 2 comes equipped with built-in GPS, so it can record precise distance, speed and pace even without taking your iPhone while you’re walking, running, or cycling outdoors, and its integrated heart rate monitor measures your heart rate throughout the day. Moreover, its workout app features 12 indoor and outdoor workouts that accurately measure your movement, and its Activity Ring shows you how active you’re every day, and it gives you a nudge when you sit for a long time.
In addition, Apple Watch Series 2 also comes with many gorgeous watch faces, and its dock feature lets you quickly access to your favorite apps. Apart from that, integrated Siri provides more convenient voice assist, and built-in rechargeable battery offers up to 18 hours of battery life on a single charge.
Apple Watch Series 2 will be available for preorder on September 9, starting at $369 USD. If you’re interested, jump to Apple for its more details.
