Apple has announced its latest iPad 9.7-inch, a high-performance entry-level tablet to replace iPad Air 2, and iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 2 have been discontinued.
The new iPad 9.7-inch is a budget friendly and high performance tablet that measures 240 x 169.5 x 7.5mm and weighs 469g. As we can see from the images, the 9.7-inch iPad follows the legendary design of iPad Air 2, but the new one is 1.4mm thicker than the predecessor. Moreover, the aluminum unibody delivers a lightweight and durable construction along with a smooth and comfortable touch feel, and if comes in three classic color options including silver, gold and space gray.
Compared with iPad Air 2 powered by A8X chip, the new iPad 9.7-inch is powered by 64-bit A9 chip embedded M9 coprocessor in order to deliver performance that effortlessly deal with various apps, games and HD video playback, and built-in 32.4Wh rechargeable battery offers up to 10 hours of surfing the web on WiFi, watching video or listening to music.
Moreover, the tablet is available in two storage capacity options: 32GB and 128GB, so you can choose based on your demands. iPad 9.7-inch also features a LED-backlit multi-touch Retina display with IPS technology, 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution at 264 ppi to display vivid and bright images with rich colors and details.
In addition, other features also include Touch ID, 1.2MP front-facing camera, and 8MP rear camera supporting 1080p video recording.
